SSD (Single Sided Deafness) or UHL (Unilateral Hearing Loss) is a type of hearing loss where only one of two ears is impaired.
Since there is one ear functioning, the problems people with SSD have tend to be underestimated by not only people with normal hearing, but also people with SSD!
Sounds weird? People with SSD have little trouble in daily lives because they do hear sound. In fact, however, as the title suggests, losing one ear means much more than you think. Without being noticed, people with SSD is fighting against many problems.
